Are As Seen On TV Products Safe To Buy?

By John

Last Updated:

Some people question the legitimacy of the products they see on TV and sometimes are skeptical when it comes to buying online.

If you do things the right way, there should be no problem with any type of shopping online, even if you get one of them cool As Seen on TV products.

Online Merchants

There are many retailers selling As Seen on TV products and I have yet to see one that I didn’t trust. Most of them come directly from Asseenontv.com, which is the direct link to the site.

Wherever you decide to buy the product you see, make sure that they accept all major credit cards and if you’re not using a payment processor, you might want to consider opening an account.

3rd Party Payment Processors

If you’re not familiar with a company called Paypal and you’re an As Seen on TV shopaholic, I think it’s time you get with the program.

Not all online retailers will accept payment processors, but if they do, I suggest you use one.

To those that don’t know much about shopping online, they don’t know the advantages of using Paypal are.

  1. Your purchase is paid through Paypal
  2. Your credit card or bank information is never exposed to anyone (not even the merchant)
  3. Buyer protection policy

If you are not satisfied with anything and everything online, Paypal has a very strict customer satisfaction policy.

So if you’re thinking that you are taking the safest route possible and you don’t have a Paypal account, think again.

I have had $2,000 refunded to me after a merchant failed to deliver and that just shows how far they’ll go to keep you safe.

Protect Your Computer

I own a Mac, but even at that, I can’t let anything slip through the cracks.

If you have a PC and you haven’t installed some type of antivirus, you need to do that immediately or you might just be in line for a cyber attack.

Shopping online with an unprotected computer is just setting yourself up for failure.

I mean come on, I think everyone and their mothers are shopping online, so please protect yourself as there are people out there that don’t care who they steal from.

If you don’t think you can be a victim of identity theft, you might want to meet someone who has, so that you can put your guard up.

There are completely free antivirus programs out there, so do a quick Google search and find one for your computer.

I use a free program from Avast and it works perfectly fine. If you want the best protection, I suggest you go with the best of the best and get Norton Antivirus.

So is it Safe to Shop Online?

Definitely!

I’m not saying that you can’t and won’t fall victim, but if you take the necessary measures to protecting yourself and your identity then things should run smoothly.

Here’s a quick checklist, so that you don’t have to worry so much about being scammed online.

  1. Get Paypal
  2. Use crazy passwords
  3. Don’t use the same password for everything
  4. Get an antivirus
  5. Clear your browser every now and then
  6. Change your passwords regularly

I know the whole changing of passwords kind of sucks, but trust me, it’s well worth it. Complacency kills and don’t let something like an easy password get in the way of your safety.

We all shop online, so let’s be safe and protect ourselves from hackers and criminals online. I hope this article helps.

Happy Shopping!
