Who This is For
So, who is this for exactly?
Well, let’s start with the premise of this device.
The Atomic Lighter is a lighter that uses neither flint or fuel to spark up.
It’s electric, and with a charge it creates two electric arks that you can use the same way you would use the flame of a traditional lighter.
That being the case it ostensibly fulfills the same needs that a regular lighter does.
It also features a rugged, basically indestructible design that will make it a great option for outdoor use.
We all need lighters for one thing or another, whether you are a camper, a smoker, or simply a lighter of candles or hearth fires, every once and a while you encounter the need to spark up.
That being the case, pretty much anyone could come up with something to use this product for.
I’ll say this though: you are probably going to most get your money’s worth out of this gadget if you use it a lot.
After all, most lighters only cost about a dollar or so, and assuming you don’t use them all that much they can last a long while.
That being the case, the casual lighter user probably is not going to enjoy this product to the fullest extent possible.
However, if you do often find yourself in need of a lighter, the $19.99 price tag might not seem all that bad to you, especially considering how durable and reusable this product is.
How It Works
Like just about every lighter, the Atomic Lighter is pretty simple, though it certainly does stray from convention a little bit.
As mentioned earlier, there are no wicks or fluids required to get this product going.
To use it, you are first going to need to charge up the lighter for the amount of time dictated by the instructions.
After that, using the Atomic lighter is as simple as pushing a button and watching this unique product work its magic.
The good news is that once the charge wears out, you simply charge it back up and use it again.
In that regard, this product could potentially save you money on lighters in the long run, because unlike most similar products, it is reusable.
Is the Atomic Lighter Durable?
Yep. It’s definitely durable.
That’s kind of one of the main selling points of the Atomic Lighter, actually.
It’s made of a lightweight but exceptionally durable alloy that should be able to withstand even extensive use.
Now, that said most people aren’t really in the business of beating up their lighters anyway, but it is nevertheless still nice to see that this product is going to be able to withstand some rough treatment.
Even the electric “flame” of the Atomic Lighter is durable, actually.
Since there is no actual fire at work here, this lighter won’t go out until the charge does, meaning that it is wind proof. This quality makes it a great option for outdoor use in particular.
The one great fault with this product’s make is in the battery life.
Unfortunately, it seems that the Atomic Lighter does not hold a charge for as long as most people would hope, meaning you might want to keep that convenient USB charger handy.
Generally, it seems that this product is good for about fifteen lights before the battery charge expires. Compared to what a traditional lighter is capable of, this definitely does leave something to be desired.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Durable
- No Flint or Fuel Necessary
- Super Cool
- Wind Proof
Cons:
- Unfortunately, the Atomic Lighter does not hold a charge for as long as you might want, making extensive use difficult.
- The Atomic Lighter is also considerably more expensive than traditional lighters.
Before you Buy
Keep in mind that this product is not perfect.
The tiny electric arcs look really cool, but you will probably lose your interest in them when they go out after only fifteen charges.
I’m not saying that you should not buy this product because I personally think that it is very cool but what I am telling you is that you should probably manage your expectations.
If you are the sort of person that finds themselves in constant need of a lighter and can’t get by with less than fifteen lights a day, this might not be right for you.
In the end, the Atomic Lighter is still a lot of fun, and it has a sy-fy vibe to it that I personally think goes a long way towards spicing up a traditionally boring product.
Buy or Not To Buy?
I’ll be honest, this product does cost a little bit more than I would want to spend on a lighter, but that said…it’s so cool, isn’t it?
The question here is not whether or not you need the Atomic Lighter, because the fact of the matter is that you probably do not.
But do you want it? My guess would be that you do.
If you are looking for something to splurge on, I think this high tech rechargeable lighter will make for a fun way to spend a few dollars on yourself.
You can find this bad boy on Amazon for the best deals, so you might want to check them out.
