By John

purple-pillow-reviews

There are not than many Purple Pillow reviews so I decided to throw one out there, for those of you who are looking to spend that hard earned money of yours on something that might not be worth the investment.

For most people, a good pillow is critical to enjoying a good night’s sleep and I’m sure that you and I can agree with that, especially because you’re on this post.

This product is yet another As Seen on TV product that can either be a big hit or a major flop, so you can’t really tell what to expect.

With “as seen on TV products” there is always the risk that the reality for the product does not quite live up to the promises of the ad.

You definitely don’t want to buy a product just to find out that it isn’t everything that you hoped for it to be, do you?

Of course not and that is where we come in to help.

Read on for an in-depth review of the Purple Pillow and let’s see what the hype is all about.

Product Overview

There’s not much to say besides the fact that this is a pillow and one that is supposed to be better than anything you have ever tried.

Forget about the whole memory foam deal as these guys have an air booster!

With every new product comes doubt and many questions, so let’s get a little deeper into what this pillow can actually do.

Oh and if you have not seen the marketing video for the Purple Pillow, you might want to check it out as it is quite entertaining.

Who This is For

Well, the product is a of course a pillow, which means that in some ways it is really suitable for pretty much anyone, but of course different people like different kinds of pillows.

It’s a firm pillow that is also designed to be resistant to most known allergens which will make it a great buy for people that have a lot of allergies, and for people that like a firmer sleeping surface.

The flip side of that, of course, is that those that like a softer surface probably won’t enjoy this pillow.

The manufacturers try to suggest that it will be great for both types of users, but that is paradoxical. The truth of the matter is that this pillow tends to be on the firmer side, and will certainly best fit the needs of people who like a firm pillow.

What Makes This Pillow Special

We’ve touched a little bit already on what makes this pillow special, but let’s break it down a little bit more. The firm quality of this pillow is optimized to ensure that it will continuously provide support to whoever uses it.

Generally, this is an attribute associated with memory foam pillows but that isn’t quite what we are dealing with here. Memory foam doesn’t tend to breath very well, which can lead to the pillow getting unpleasantly warm throughout the night.

The Purple Pillow, on the other hand is designed with a fabric that is made to breath. This quality keeps the pillow at a comfortable temperature throughout the night.

The shape of the pillow itself is also designed to be great for people with neck pain, which is a pretty solid pro in its favor if that pertains to you.

Then there are the hypoallergenic properties of this pillow to consider. If you don’t have any allergies than this doesn’t really pertain to you but if you do, you know how big of a deal this can be.

You definitely don’t want to wake up in the middle of the night to an allergy or asthma attack, and a hypoallergenic surface can help to make sure that that doesn’t happen.

Is it Durable?

It’s difficult to determine the durability of a pillow simply for the fact of the matter that they really don’t usually go through too much wear and tear.

That said, with typical use this pillow should hold up just fine. Of course, no pillow lasts forever. Eventually it will start to lose its shape, at which point you are probably going to need to get a new one.

The Price

It’s a little bit hard to determine how good of a deal you are getting when you buy a pillow. The reason for this of course being that the price of a pillow can range pretty drastically.

That said, the Purple Pillow is vastly more expensive than some options, and significantly more affordable than others.

The Purple Pillow is available for $100, which definitely isn’t cheap, but it is also a pretty good price for what you are getting.

Of course, if you want to save a little bit of money on this pillow, buying from Amazon is a pretty good bet.

While the sticker price on this unit is going to be the same pretty much wherever you buy it you will be able to save on shipping with a Prime membership.

To Buy Or Not To Buy?

I’m a pretty big fan of this unit all things considered. While I am pretty sure that this pillow is not going to be right for every buyer, there are definitely plenty of people that will really benefit from its many features.

I do think that the price of this unit is a little bit steep. It’s not a rip off by any stretch of the imagination but if you decide that you would like to shop around a little bit, my guess is that you could probably find a comparable product for a little bit less money.

Then again, you might not. Or, you might find that the comparable product isn’t quite as comfortable as the Purple Pillow.

Ultimately you have to decide for yourself whether or not this is a good deal.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Firm
  • Hypoallergenic
  • Breathable Material
  • Optimized For People With Neck Pain
  • Not like any other pillow you’ve seen (or felt)

Cons:

  • Priced slightly higher than many comparable products

Conclusion

Is the Purple Pillow worth your pillow? I

’m personally of the opinion that it is.

There is a lot to like about this pillow and I’m sure you can agree.

The unique design makes it very comfortable for people that like a good firm pillow, and it is also optimized for use by people with neck pain.

And of course, for some people the biggest pro is definitely going to be the pillows hypoallergenic properties.

Despite the fact that I think the price is a little bit steeper than it needs to be, this really is a good pillow.

My conclusion is that unless you are on a really specific budget you are almost definitely going to get your money’s worth from this pillow.

Other than that, thanks for reading my Purple Pillow review.

  1. I just recently saw a commercial on this and being that I can’t seem to find that perfect pillow I had to see if this was going to be “the one”. I’m really tired (no pun intended) of having to use multiple cheap pillows that work better than a memory foam pillow that I bought a couple of months ago. I’m really hoping this one works like advertised and thank you for giving me more information on this!

  2. Very entertaining video on the “Purple Pillow”. I’ve never heard of this pillow and at first it didn’t look very comfortable until I watched the video. Several months ago I purchased a “My Pillow” and love it. It’s machine washable and extremely comfortable.
The “My Pillow” comes with a satisfaction guarantee so you can return it if it doesn’t work for you. Does the “Purple Pillow” have a similar guarantee?
I think this would make a great gift for someone living in a hot climate.

  3. 20 years ago I was paying $75+ to my chiropractor for a contoured neck pillow that was basically like the memory foam pillows of today. It was hot to sleep on and, after several months, would lose it’s shape and support.
Since then I have been using various combinations of foam, seed filled and feather filled pillows to ease my neck aches.
This is new to me and I can’t wait to try it.
    Thanks! Jim

  4. My mom just bought the “My Pillow” and it seems to be pretty good, but kind of cheap. I’m using a firm, foam pillow right now, and it’s lasted me for years, but I think I still have neck and back problems from it. I would consider a $100 pillow if I knew that it was going to resolve my issues: support, durability, and cooling. This seems to fit the bill, so it’s going on my list of possibilities. I’d rather pay more for a great pillow that’s going to do its job and last, than get a cheap pillow that doesn’t.

  5. After my cancer diagnosis, I was thrown into early menopause, so I have been on the hunt for a pillow that remains cool throughout the night. I thought I had found a great deal on a gel infused pillow at our local discount store, but we have gone through about six of these pillows in the last year because they just don’t seem to last. Sure they can be run through the washing machine, but that only seems to help fluff them up for a short amount of time.

I had never heard of the purple pillow prior to your review, but I’m curious, how thick is this pillow really? And does it truly stay cool throughout the night?
