If you’re wondering what an umbrella stroller is I want to tell you exactly that along with the many reasons why I think you should own one.
I used to think a baby stroller was a stroller and then along came the umbrella stroller, which I have grown to love by the way.
I am a big fan of umbrella strollers but I was not keen on getting one since we already had a Britax Affinity stroller, which I found to be a bit on the pricey side.
After getting our first umbrella stroller as a gift from grandma, I have found this inexpensive addition to our family arsenal has become quite a favorite of mine.
I’m not one to pack the whole house for any reasons other than moving and this stroller has served a lot more than just something pretty to haul around.
Here are several reasons why I think every family with children under the age of 3 should have an umbrella stroller.

So What is an Umbrella Stroller?
An umbrella stroller is a lightweight, compact baby stroller that folds up easily just like an umbrella would.
It’s meant for travel and other light tasked days that doesn’t require comfort like a regular baby stroller provides.
Super simple explanation for a really simple design that can and should help with a lot of the work we as parents take on when getting in and out of a vehicle.
Talk About Convenient
If you’re going for a quick run to the grocery store or you simply don’t want to get in everyone’s way, this nice little stroller will do the trick.
Flying somewhere?
This is going to be your best bet if you plan on taking a family vacation or simply going out of town.
Umbrella Strollers are Lightweight
At least that’s how they should be.
The evolution of baby strollers and umbrella strollers have grown a lot and parents are now looking to these things as a “go to” rather than only being used for simple tasks.
For the most part though, these things come below 15 LBS and will be the lightest of all baby strollers.
Affordable
You can get an umbrella stroller for a very cheap price although some manufacturers have taken this simple idea to another level.
You can find one for less than $30 on Amazon.com which I’m sure will be money well spent.
I did find that these once cheap strollers can now cost as much as $300!
I’m not one to spend on stuff that will be used for a short amount of time, but my other half finds it very necessary to spend.
She thinks “they’ll only be a baby once in their lives” while I think ” we will only be using it for less than 3 years”.
Whatever your problem may be, there is an umbrella stroller for every budget and taste.
Great for Saving Space
You can put this thing almost anywhere.
Within your house, this thing can be laid down or you can lean it up against something without it getting in the way.
Whether you have a sedan or an SUV, I’m sure you can find some space for this bad boy.
This is one of the biggest reasons anyone should get an umbrella stroller and I think it is very much worth the investment for this reason alone.
Umbrella Strollers are a lot Less Bulky
Like I mentioned about space, umbrella strollers are very much on the not so bulky side of things which makes for a lot more storage space.
We have an SUV and hauling around a regular stroller is a big task as it can’t even fit perfectly in a car designed for bigger families.
Not going anywhere fancy?
Take the umbrella instead.
So do You Really Need an Umbrella Stroller?
I’m a lot on the conservative side, but for under $20 I think it is very much worth the investment.
Rather than getting stressed out trying to take out old bulky from the car, let a good old umbrella stroller simplify life at least for that moment.
I recommend getting one for the many reasons mentioned above and I’m sure a lot of you will agree.
Do you have any recommendations when it comes to umbrella strollers?

This is beautiful! I don’t have a baby just yet, but I would totally buy one when the time comes. Plus it looks like a gadget which is what I’m all about haha! Gotta love it!
Yeah your time will come Wilkyn so get ready! lol.
Hi John,
I agree that it very much depends on what you plan on doing, but the fact that this thing can fold up so small, is testimony to keeping it in the car all the time. At that price, seems like great value for money too.
I am interested in what benefit the more advanced options offer.
Thanks for posting.
Adam
I agree with keeping it in the car Adam, but then again, it depends on what you already have in there.
I do not even know how I stopped up here, however I believe this post is great. I do not recognize who you are but certainly you’re going to be a well-known blogger if you aren’t already. Cheers!
